Lake of the Woods is located on I-94 halfway between Detroit, MI and Chicago, IL in Decatur, MI.

It is approximately 286 acres in size and is a full recreational lake, with fishing, boating, swimming, sailing, water skiing, and jet skiing. There are approximately 280 homes on the lake that are both year round and seasonal.

In July of 1980, Warren Grosvenor, along with other homeowners on the lake, formed what is now called the Lake of The Woods Improvement Association to improve the quality of the lake and it's natural resources.

The Lake of the Woods Improvement Association is currently made up of 138 families and businesses.

This web site was created by Craig and Kitty Morey (Association Members and Volunteers) and made its debut on 1/1/2004.
