2020 LOWIA JULY 4 BOAT PARADE7/6/2020 We had a great turnout for the 2020 LOW boat parade! Right before the start at 6:00 pm the west side of the lake had a pretty good rain downpour, but the storm blew out shortly after that for another hot evening.
Eleven boats were cruising around the lake all decorated for the parade. First place went to the Bathe family with an Ice Cream theme, ice cream truck music was great, Second place went to the Wesaw family with Hollywood movie nights theme, popcorn, movie tickets, an usher with a bow tie, Third place was the Younker family with the boot scootin’ boogie theme, and Younkers did it again by dancing around the whole lake NONSTOP, Fourth place was the Sharon Neubauer family with an Independence Day theme, Fifth place was the Bill Neubauer family with the Good Ship Lollipop theme. We also had two boats participate representing Lake of the Woods and Greenwood camps on our lake, One was Statue of Liberty and the other one was Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash. We had the Harns family with a Covid-19 theme, Schultz family with American Spirit, Boonstra family with a USA theme. Last boat entered was the Morehouse family with a Newlywed theme, and they actually got married yesterday and even were dragging cans on a string behind their boat. Congrats guys! Lake of the Woods Improvement Association wants to give a thanks to Jim Rau from Apollo Marine in Lawton MI for donating this years parade prizes. SEE EVERYONE NEXT YEAR!! LOWIA

Bathe family deserves the first place. I love the way the boat is decorated like an ice cream car; It's so sweet!
